| Where the Buffalo Roam is a movie based on the Thompson short story "The Banshee Screams for Buffalo Meat" from the novel "The Great Shark Hunt." It follows the relationship of HST and his attorney who dissappears after losing a big trial. WTBR fails to capture the bond of the two wild men, but Bill Murray shines as the offbeat Thompson. | ||||||||||||||||||||

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas is an excellent movie based on the book by the same name. It follows the book nearly word for word which really lets you get into mind of Thompson. Johnny Depp brilliantly portrays our infamous doctor, while Benicio Del Toro gives an equally impressive performance as his lawyer. It contains lots of drug use and interesting special effects, but underneath it all are truths that only HST could surface in this strange manner. | |||||||||||||||||||
